Light Regional Council (“Council”) proposes to compulsorily
acquire the land comprising Allotment 598 in Filed Plan
176670, which is presently the whole of the land comprised
in Limited Certificate of Title Volume 6148 Folio 853, and
which is located at Lot 598 Marrabel Road, Hamilton South
Australia 5373 (“Land”) pursuant to section 191 of the Local
Government Act 1999 (SA). The identity and whereabouts
of all persons who may have an interest in the Land are not
known to the Council. Accordingly, the Council is making
inquires to find any person who claims to have an interest in the Land,
including any executors, administrators or beneficiaries.
The Council’s searches indicate that:
• the current registered proprietor of the Land is Sarah Robertson of
Hamilton, South Australia as administrator of the estate of George Robertson
who died on 10 June 1871;
• letters of administration were granted by the Supreme Court of South
Australia to Sarah Robertson to administer the estate of George Robertson
on 29 June 1871;
• on 30 June 1871 a notice was published in the newspaper by Sarah
Robertson’s attorney giving notice that all persons having a claim against
the estate of George Robertson (who died intestate) should send in details
of their claims to Sarah Robertson’s attorney on or before 30 September
1871 and that after this date Sarah Robertson would proceed to distribute
George Robertson’s assets;
• the Land does not appear to have been dealt with as part of the estate
and therefore remains in Sarah Robertson’s name as executor of the estate.
If you have any information about the ownership of the Land or any
beneficiary of the Land, please contact the Council’s contact person below
within 14 days of the date of publication of this notice.
